Counselling

Children (Aged 4-17)

A variety of conditions and concerns may prompt you to seek help for your child. Dealing with minors is different from treating adults. Children think differently and require a developmental perspective. Children sometimes have trouble coping at home and or at school. They may demonstrate emotional and/or physical  responses which concern their parents or teachers.

Working with children requires the ability to understand their unique story and to uncover the strategies that can help them to grow and be successful. Parents are the experts when it comes to knowing their children; therefore, a collaborative approach is best.

Adults (18+)

You matter and life can be stressful. There are times when we need to invest in improving our mental wellness.  The answers lie within you and individualized counselling can help to bring them to the surface. Identifying one's strengths and needs, setting goals and providing the scaffolding necessary to achieve them is part of the process. Building resilience to weather whatever the future has in store is the ultimate goal. Counselling requires a unique trust relationship between the provider and client. If I am not the right person for you, I would be happy to recommend you to someone else in the field who might be a better fit.
